This collection touches on cultural taboos and individuals who are marginalized by society, everything that I’ve stored in the back of my mind’s closet, raw emotion, my Indian heritage, and my love of family. My father suddenly passed away in August 2019 of Valley Fever, entirely broken I turned to write and put together the final chapter “sardar iqbal singh samra” to share with all of you how wonderful of a person he was. My father was my best friend and influenced me to start writing at a young age. Poetry has been my solace since I was 12 years old. This collection has something for everyone.
